Making the most of your stay in  West Cornwall

The village
At the heart of St Ives Bay, Lelant is a tranquil, seaside village, perfectly situated to explore West Cornwall.  With its own mile of dune-backed golden sand, Lelant quickly lulls you into that relaxed holiday mood.  Yet the buzz of St Ives, Cornwall's creative hub is just a 10 minute train ride.  Lelant is also home to West Cornwall Golf Club, Britain's most westerly course with spectacular views over St Ives Bay and only a 10 minute walk from The Firs.

St Ives

With a vibrant arts and crafts community, West Cornwall has been an important part of contemporary art making for over 120 years.  Home to Tate St Ives and the Leach Pottery, explore the narrow, cobbled streets to find renowned artists and makers galleries before heading for one of the five spectacular beaches..

Further afield

West Cornwall is an ancient and dramatic corner of the world where wild, unspoilt landscapes hide secret beaches and tiny villages.  This is the narrowest part of Cornwall: only 7 miles separate the very different North and South coasts.

With the greatest concentration of ancient sites in Europe, the landscape of Penwith has changed little since the Bronze age. Wild and unspoilt, it is renowned for its crystal clear, turquoise waters and excellent surf - take your pick of the 172 beaches.!

Each Spring sees a series of classical concerts across the peninsular by the International Musicians Seminar. In summer enjoy performances at the stunning, cliff-top setting of the open-air Minack Theatre.
